Craig plays Geordie Peacock - who escapes from his abusive father in Newcastle to live in swinging sixties Soho, London where the streets are lined with porn.  His life takes a dramatic turn as he quickly becomes a successful foot-soldier for a corrupt club owner, Bennie Barratt (Malcolm McDowell).  From then on, through a tawdry saga of frame-ups, drug-deals, jail and homelessness, Geordie enters a relentless downward spiral into dependency, alcoholism and mental breakdown. 

It was bloody hard work, but fantastic.  I had a chance to play a character that changed and developed over the course of three decades, something very rare for an actor.  We spent a year making it in Newcastle and London, and I'm very proud of it, not only because of all the time we invested in it, but also because everyone worked so hard.  And it's nice to have a positive reaction from both the critics and the public."
